Commander/Chef Rich West Explains His Special Recipe: “For the Friday, March
14, 6 p.m., Post 77 St.Patrick’s Day and American Legion’s 95th birthday dinner,
to obtain the best taste, we will be using pickling spices over a three-week period
for corning of the briskets. No store-bought corned beef. Les Murillo and I will
create a brine, submerge the brisket, and turn the brisket every two days in the
refrigerator. The sweet cabbage will not be overly cooked. We will also serve red
potatoes.” Get your tickets at $15. For this highly popular corned beef and
cabbage dinner by stopping at the Post clubroom or calling (530) 662-9772
